Both production sites of NITROERG S.A. are classified as Upper-Tier Establishments (ZDR) posing a risk of a major industrial accident, in accordance with the classification resulting from the Environmental Protection Law Act of April 27, 2001, and the detailed implementing regulation.

Pursuant to Art. 267 of the Environmental Protection Law, we hereby inform you that:

1. Establishment Status: The facility is classified as an Upper-Tier Establishment (ZDR) due to the risk of a major industrial accident.
2. Compliance with Obligations: The establishment has submitted the appropriate notification to the Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service and has provided the required Major-Accident Prevention Policy and Safety Report.
3. Description of Activities: The facility is engaged in the storage/processing of chemical substances which determine its classification as an Upper-Tier Establishment.
4. Security Measures: The plant is equipped with modern detection systems, safety automation, and internal emergency procedures. In the event of an accident, the facility immediately activates alarm systems and notifies emergency Details can be found in the attachment below.

As an Upper-Tier Establishment, we comply with the statutory requirements regulating major accidents and maintain complete, up-to-date documentation of our Safety Management System, including: the Notification of the Establishment, Major-Accident Prevention Policy, Internal Emergency Plans, and Safety Reports.

The Company attaches particular importance to ensuring process safety, as well as the safety of employees and the environment. Undertaken actions aim to prevent events that could cause an accident and—should one occur—to mitigate its consequences. To ensure the highest level of safety, Internal Emergency Plans are subject to regular testing. Every three years, practical exercises are organized at the facility to verify the effectiveness of procedures and to coordinate cooperation with the State Fire Service and other emergency services.

NITROERG S.A. operates in the field of explosives production. The nature of this production necessitates systematic quality testing of our products. This is crucial for quality control and process safety, thereby ensuring the safety of our employees and the residents of nearby towns. These tests involve blasting trials (i.e., the detonation of explosive samples) conducted within a designated,

fenced, and specially prepared area on the company’s premises.

NITROERG S.A. conducts quality tests to guarantee compliance with standards and the stability of substances. Each series of blasting trials is preceded by a warning signal (siren). Please be advised that these tests are conducted only on working days during the following hours: Krupski Młyn: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Bieruń: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
