On September 9-11, 2019, the seventh edition of the Open-pit Mining School took place in Kielce (Poland). The conference was organized by the Open-pit Mining Department of the Faculty of Mining and Geoengineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.

As the organizers emphasize, the main message of the « Open-pit Mining School » is the transfer of the latest knowledge on practical issues of open-pit mining and exchange of experiences in order to develop the so-called « Good practices in mining ». Among the topics discussed during this year’s meeting, the main emphasis was placed on issues related to: safe extraction of minerals and minimization of natural hazards, the country’s resource policy and access to deposits, the latest legal regulations in open-pit mining activities or modern technical solutions in rock mines and brown coal mines as well as reclamation and revitalization of post-mining areas.
NITROERG, as every year, took the patronage of this event, actively marking its presence through the organization of the booth, as well as the participation of delegates in discussion panels. The technical part of the conference was a dynamic demonstration of mining machinery organized at the « Radkowice » Dolomite Mine.
