Fuel blends with FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) tend to degrade faster as a result of the fuel biocomponent being more susceptible to oxidation. It is known that cetane improvers also tend to have a negative impact on the oxidation stability of diesel fuel. The products of the oxidation reactions occurring in fuels are substances that may compromise the proper operation of engine, especially the HPCR injection systems.
